Partners
St. Matthew was redesigned with a purpose in mind. It was intentionally envisioned as more than a church building, it was created to be a gathering place for the whole community and a shared home for organizations committed to the well-being of Southwest Washington, D.C. Our space is open to neighbors, partners, and nonprofits whose work strengthens the community and reflects a shared commitment to human dignity, justice, and care for one another.
Located in a neighborhood shaped by profound history—including displacement, redevelopment, and ongoing change—we seek to be avisible presence of reconciliation and hope in Southwest D.C. By sharing our space, building partnerships, and welcoming community life into our walls, St. Matthew strives to embody a way of being human that honors the dignity and rights of every person.
We are proud of our community partners who gather here. Please learn more about them below. Together, through our collective missions and values, we work to serve Southwest DC and contribute to a neighborhood where belonging, justice, and flourishing are possible for all.
Interested groups in using our building, please visit our space page.

City Sing and Play
Every week in our music classes at City Sing And Play, babies, toddlers, preschoolers, and the grownups who love them come together to sing and play and make music together. Little ones love playing along in class, and caregivers love being a part of their children’s growth into confident music-makers. And everyone loves our songs that’ll have you tapping along in no time. Watch your SAPlings blossom and grow through music, movement, and most importantly, fun! Music Together is the perfect family activity in the Southwest Waterfront neighborhood!
